Refund Policy

Refunds and cancellations for reservations made through ReserveItLocal are managed by the municipality or organization operating the reservable asset. Residents should contact the municipality directly regarding cancellation requests, scheduling changes, or refund inquiries.

Reservation Cancellations

Residents should contact the municipality or facility administrator associated with their reservation to request a cancellation or scheduling change.

Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility is determined by the municipality managing the reservation. Municipalities may choose to issue full booking refunds, partial refunds, or deny refunds based on municipal policy.

Non-Refundable Fees

Convenience fees and payment processing fees are generally non-refundable. These fees include:

  • ReserveItLocal platform convenience fees
  • Stripe payment processing fees

When a municipality approves a refund, the booking fee portion is returned to the resident. Convenience and processing fees are not included in the refund.

Municipality Responsibilities

Municipalities are responsible for:

  • Managing cancellation requests from residents
  • Communicating their cancellation and refund policies
  • Determining refund eligibility
  • Processing approved refunds
  • Handling operational disputes related to reservations

ReserveItLocal Platform Role

ReserveItLocal provides the reservation platform and payment infrastructure used by participating municipalities. ReserveItLocal does not independently determine municipal refund policies or cancellation eligibility.
